Finished 3rd after starting 6th in the heat race. Made a slight change to the
car to improve the handling. Started 4th and moved into the 2nd spot on lap
one. Race went green-white-ckeckered and couldn't run down the leader,
Brands, who started 2nd. The gap to the leader stayed about the same the
Got wrecked in the heat race when the 32 car spun in front of us. Bent the
rearend, passenger door bar, and some RF suspension parts. We were
unable to start the feature.
Started 20th and finished 13th. Car didn't work very good and didn't have
enough gear in the car. The race went green-white-checkered and couldn't
pass any more cars.
With the rain cancelling a number of events for Rock Rapids, we decided to
head down to Alta to race. We started 5th and finished 4th in our heat. From
our 8th place starting position, we moved up to 5th in a few laps. We stayed
their until the inside line had to check up allowing a couple of cars to pass
us. Car worked okay, but we couldn't make up the lost ground. We need
more motor and more gear at Alta.
We made our first trip ever to Deer Creek for the USRA Iron Man Series. We
started 5th and finished 5th in our heat. The track was really dry and the car
handled pretty good. We started 14th in the feature and retired from the
race early due to a lose of oil pressure. We'll have to change motors and
figure out what caused the problem.
Led every lap of the heat race from our outside pole starting spot. Made a
shock change for the feature causing the handling to not be so good. Ending
up having the transmission go out early in the race.
We started the feature on outside row 2. After working pass the 45k, we
settled into 3rd for most of the race. The track was dry and we didn't have
any forward bite. We'd finish 2nd tonight after the XX drove under the 96 and
up into the RF of the leader. The 96 was sent to the rear and the XX went on
to win the feature.
We contuined our weekend of racing by heading to Jackson Speedway. We
started last in our heat and could only pass 1 car. After barely missing the big
wreck on the front stretch and restarting in the rear, the vision at the back of
the pack was not worth racing and wrecking the car. Jackson needs to move
the tractor tires out further to keep people from going to the infield grass and
kicking up some much dust.
With Rock Rapids being cancelled on Friday night, we traveled to Jackson on
Saturday. After a flat tire false alarm in the heat, we started 12th in the
feature. The track was really tacky and was pretty much a one lane, no fun
We started the feature on the outside of the second row and ran down the
leader quickly. We were all over the 5B but couldn't get around him. Lap after
lap, we could get a run out of turn 2 but couldn't pass him. A late caution
would bunch up the field and restart us on the inside lane. After going to the
bottom side to challenge for the win, we ended up third. Great stock car race!
Started 5th Friday night at Rock Rapids. After the 410 Sprint car feature, the
track actually had two lines with a cushion on top and a bottom lane. The
race went green-white-checkered and we passed the leader on the lowside
on the last lap to take home the feature win. Roger drove the heck out of the
Tonight was a USRA Iron Man series race at Rock Rapids. After being part of
a caution to avoid a spinning car in the heat, we restarted 6th in the heat and
finished 2nd. Started on the pole of the feature and came home 2nd to Jake
Masters. Race went G-W-C. He was just a little better coming out of turn 4
and through turn 1. We may have to make a shock change as we've lost
some forward bite.
We went to the Doug Cellan Memorial Race. We got caught up in a late
caution with 2 laps to go while running about 8th. Decided to call it a night
after a rough driving feature. Car wasn't good enough as we didn't account
for the rubber that the 360's put down on the track during their feature.
Probably won't be back to Jackson much this year after tonight. We'll be
putting our USRA motor in the car. It's not good enough for IMCA racing.
Started the feature 7th and could only move up 1 position. Track was hard
and dry. Everyone was on the bottom and there wasn't much passing. Our
car was too tight on entry and in the center of the corner. We were also
spinning tires of the corners and not going forward.
Started the 3rd in the heat race and took home the checkers. Track was
hard and dry again for the feature. Started outside pole in the feature and
took the lead while completing lap 1. Got out to lead early. A caution with
about 4 laps to go brought the field to our bumper. Brands was in 2nd and
got to our outside on the restart. We went side by side for 3/4 of a lap when
the red flag came out for a rollover in turn 3 on the restart. The feature was
called for leaking fuel robbing the fans of what was surely going to be a great
3 or 4 laps of side by side racing for the victory.
Started 5th and finished 4th in the feature. The track was really tacky and
there was virtually no passing going on.
Took home the victory at Rock Rapids in the USRA stock car feature. Led
every lap. Track had a cushion to run up against. Not something we've seen
at Rocky on a regular basis sense we started racing there in 2009. Finished
2nd to Brands in the King of the Hill event.
Started 9th and finished 6th in the feature last night. Race went GWC and
was a one-laner around the top side on the cushion. Track was super slimy
for the heats. It wasn't even raceable
Tonight was a struggle all around. The car was too tight in the center
causing it to get really sideways in the heat and the feature. Made some
adjustments in the shop to fix the handling problems.
USRA Stock Car Special. Got caught up in an early wreck when the 5B got
sideways. Restarted 15th and was side by side with the 6th place car at the
checkers. Track had 2 lines and the car worked really good on the bottom.
Needed more laps to get into the top 5.
Track was tacky with the top line a little faster than the bottom. Ran side by
side with the 3rd place car with a number of laps. Car was too tight to pass
anyone while running the bottom. The car didn't get off the corner very well.
First IMCA race in about 2 months. Made some changes to the car today in
the shop. Finished 5th on a very dry track. Car was just too loose. Heat race
was ok, but we clearly don't have enough motor for IMCA.
Started 4th and finished 3rd in the heat. Track had a big cushion and it was
hard to pass. Started 6th in the feature. The car was only okay. We had a
very short time to make any adjustments to the car between the heat and the
feature. We'll make those changes before Rocky on Friday.
Spark plug wire came off in the heat. Car was too tight and couldn't go
anywhere in the feature finishing 7th. The car did not handle all the well.
Car handled pretty good in the heat. Still a little tight in the feature. Car went
away early. After leading the first few laps we finished 5th. If we had our
IMCA motor in, we'd be no worse than 2nd tonight.
Started 2nd in the feature. Car was just a little tight and the high-side was a
little faster than the bottom. Was passed by the 96 and 27 and finished 3rd. It
was enough to win the USRA Stock Car Track championship.
Ran our heat and B feature right after farming. The track was super slimmy
and we couldn't go anywhere. Bad day at the IMCA Super Nationals.
Started 3rd in our heat and finished 2nd. Started 9th and finished 5th
in the first A Main Qualifier. Roger drove the heck of the car. Made it
into the big show for the first time.
The Stock Car Big Show: Got some damage on the first few laps and got well
behind. Car didn't work very good. Would like to change a few things and
rerun that race.
Started 10th and finished 8th. Car worked pretty good around the bottom, but
we needed more gear. Could get back in the gas sooner than the cars in
front of us, but had no where to go.
Started 4th and finished 3rd. Race went Green-White-Checkered. Was a
one-laner right around the bottom. Car was a little tight, but had good forward
drive off the corner.
